Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I mourn the passing of my dear 'Auntie Al'. My condolences to her/our extensive family in Winnipeg and elsewhere. Glenn has said all that I could. She was a gracious and loving woman. As an adolescent, it irked me that both she and my late Uncle Frank habitually addressed me as 'Dougie' whilst I was concerned about growing into a 'Doug' and finally a 'Douglas'. I didn't get it. Now I do. It was love and she had it in spades for all I know who knew her. Most sincerely, Douglas ('Dougie') Rebne --Brussels & New York - Posted by: DOUGLAS REBNE (NEPHEW) on: Oct 18, 2013

  • It's hard to capture all that Auntie Alison meant to our family in these few words. She exemplified kindness, positive spirit, grace and youthfulness throughout her life. Her zest for life and passion for a strong family unit were always present. She put the needs of others well above her own. She was highly respected by her peers as demonstrated by being elected to her strata council as president in Kelowna when she was well into her 80's. Alison had a thirst for learning and current affairs. She was very classy, patient and had the gift of hospitality. She was truly a blessing to all those she encountered. Thanks for sharing your wonderful life with us Auntie Al! May The Lord comfort the whole family through the grieving of your loss. - Posted by: Glenn Moore (Nephew) on: Oct 11, 2013
